Payroll Specialist (M/F)

About the role

SD Worx is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join its Adriatics team in Croatia. You will ensure accurate and compliant payroll processing for Croatian (and optionally Slovenian) clients, working closely with HR, Finance and external authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Calculate salaries, overtime, night work, sick leave, maternity leave and other earnings in line with Croatian labour and tax regulations.
• Compute taxes and social security contributions, verify payroll accuracy and prepare statutory reports.
• Submit tax returns and required documentation to the Tax Administration, Health Insurance Fund, Pension and Disability Insurance Fund, etc.
• Maintain and update employee records in HR and payroll systems.
• Prepare documentation for salary reimbursement claims (e.g., sick leave, maternity leave).
• Collaborate with HR, Finance and external institutions on payroll matters.
• Monitor legislative changes and ensure their implementation.
• Generate internal reports on salaries and employee‑related costs.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of payroll processing experience in Croatia.
• Strong knowledge of Croatian Labour Law and payroll‑related tax regulations.
• Fluent in Croatian and proficient in English (intermediate to advanced).
• High level of accuracy, confidentiality and ability to meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
