IT Audit Associate / Senior Associate

About the role

PwC is seeking an IT Audit Associate or Senior Associate to join its Zagreb office. The role involves evaluating clients’ IT environments, controls and processes that support business operations and financial reporting. You will work on diverse audit engagements, gaining insight into how technology underpins risk and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Test IT General Controls (ITGC) across access management, change management, IT operations and program development.
• Support testing of automated controls within key business processes.
• Perform walkthroughs, review documentation and discuss systems with client teams to understand their processes.
• Identify control gaps, exceptions and areas requiring follow‑up, and document findings.
• Prepare audit observations and conclusions in clear, structured reports.
• Collaborate with IT audit and financial audit colleagues on engagement delivery.
• For senior associates: own portions of engagements, review junior work, communicate with clients daily and coach junior team members.

Required profile

• Degree in IT, information systems, business, economics, engineering or a related field.
• Strong interest in technology, systems, controls and risk.
• For associate level: relevant studies, internships or early work experience.
• For senior associate level: proven experience in IT audit, IT controls, internal audit, risk assurance or a similar area.
• Excellent analytical abilities, attention to detail and clear communication.
• Fluent in Croatian and English.

Required skills

• Familiarity with business systems such as SAP, Oracle or Microsoft Dynamics.
• Knowledge of IT governance and control frameworks (COBIT, COSO, NIST, ISO 27001).
• CISA or equivalent certification (preferred for senior candidates).
