ESG Associate – German Language (Zagreb)

About the role

PwC is seeking an ESG Associate who is fluent in German to support clients across Europe in developing and implementing sustainability reporting strategies. You will work with a diverse set of clients, helping them navigate ESG regulations and deliver high‑quality sustainability reports.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of sustainability reports and support clients in meeting CSRD and other ESG reporting obligations.
• Provide compliance guidance, corrective implementation support, and advice on sustainable value creation.
• Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis of ESG data, including market, competitor and internal performance assessments.
• Catalog data sources, identify reporting gaps, and help design processes, controls and technology for ESG compliance.
• Support materiality assessments, ESG metric measurement, and decarbonisation initiatives.
• Collaborate with cross‑country teams in Southern and Eastern Europe and engage with German‑speaking clients both virtually and on‑site.

Required profile

• Minimum C1 proficiency in German (professional reading, writing and speaking).
• Fluency in English and Croatian.
• University degree in economics, engineering, environmental science or a related field.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a genuine passion for sustainability.
• Basic experience in sustainability reporting is advantageous.
